So for the past 2 years this website has been running on the CMS Joomla!. I liked it a lot playing around with Joomla!, trying some new components, making the upgrades and at the end even trying to make my own template.
But since this site is a blog actually, I think Joomla! isn’t suitable for this website at all. It is not possible to work with categories the way you work with them in a “real” blog. Joomla! works with sections wich you can devide into categories, and as soon as you move a post to the archive, the post isn’t listed in the categories list anymore. So I have been thinking about migrating the entire website to Wordpress, since it’s the best blogtool at this moment, and with wich I’ve got some experience since I am running 2 other blogs on Wordpress.
The pages with tutorials I have written for WebcamXP I can also add to Wordpress because Wordpress has the possibilities to work with pages and subpages and even categorize the pages.
I am still looking for the best options to migrate from Joomla! to Wordpress, but sofar I was only able to find 1 solution, wich only migrates the posts and not the comments. If I cannot find a good way to migrate I’ll might move this website to a subdomain, and disable the option to post comments and guestbookentries.

So I finally managed to make a joomla- based template for my website myself. It was a lot of work, a lot of trying, especially the CSS part. I never worked with CSS at all, so it was very new for me. Not everything looks exactly the way I want it to look. It is partly because I don’t know enough about CSS and partly because I just don’t manage everything to look exactly the way I want it to look. But it is just a first try, I am still working on some parts and I am still learning :)

Now I need to go find me a new website statistic tool, because the webserver of my host, All Inklusive, had a crash today. Now the counter doesn’t seem to count anymore. I Just found out at the forum of Dutch Joomla! that this counter could cause a webserver to crash due too large MySQL data loads Surprised

Finally today I managed to get Liekie.com online again after it was being hacked last Friday. I made an upgrade on the software and changed some important safetysettings.. Hope the site will be secure enough now.
