After reading the weblog about Fleur Hobers I realized you should cherish life, love your children because life could be so short.
Fleur was a 2 year old dutch girl (the weblog is in dutch as well) who died of cancer at july 14 2006.
At the age of 1 the cancer was discovered and was spread in almost all of her body. The doctors started treating her immidiately. She got 6 chemos and in may she seems she’s clean from cancer. During the treatment she got a lot of terrible infections because her body defence system is too weak.
But in June 2006 the tumor was back again and was growing very fast. The doctors couldn’t help her anymore. She got heavy painmedication and from day to day she got weaker and more pain.
The parents of Fleur documented the complete history on this weblog. It is very detailed from day to day and they added very beautifull pictures from happy and less happy moments in the hospital and at home. This makes it very personal and gives the little girl and the family a face.
I wish this family lots of strength and love in this hard period…
Last night we had a thunderstorm and it rained very heavily.. This resulted into floods everywhere in Berlin.
In our neighbourhood the Pragerplatz was full of water. The pond wasn’t even to be recognized, all cellars of the houses around the place were full of water. In some of them the water was about 1 meter (39.4 inches) high.
One part of our house cellar got some water as well, and ofcourse it was the part where we temporary store our stuff because of the renovation. So at 11 pm last night we were moving boxes from one side to the other side of the cellar. Fortunately the 2 cellars we normally use were dry. There I stored all my stuff I took with me from Holland.
The damage was not super big, unfortunately a box filled with Ricos records got wet and a box filled with his cd’s. Also some pics of mine got wet…

Since last Friday the webcams are temporarilly offline due to renovations of our apartment. We hoped to get them back online today latest, but we needed some more time to finish the renovations. Until now we managed to paint the ceiling, walls and all windows and doors white (wich the houseowners here in Berlin demand). Yesterday we started with the click laminate we bought and we hope to finish it today so we can start building our new second hand highbed. Unfortunately the laminate takes longer as well since some of the walls of he apartment are round!!!  This means a lot of measuring, drawing and sawing. it is the first time we both do this, but so far it looks great.
We hope to be back with the cams soon…
