This afternoon my mom called me and told me the Dutch Reformed church of Venhuizen was on fire.

I am quite shocked actually… I am not religious, but it’s something of my childhood. We used to play there all the time. We often went there searching for seashells as the path around the church was made of shells.
And the church is quite old, it’s from 1475 and it’s a national monument.
Unfortunately due to a lot of wind the firedepartment wasn’t able to save the church.

The great the fire was already in the news of SBS6, but they said it was in Wijdenes!!! Stupid blondes!
It was also on the news of RTV N_H and at the site of the Noord Hollands Dagblad, the village of Venhuizen and the Telegraaf it was also announced.
